FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about starting golf, equipment, practice, rules, accessories and the site itself.

Do beginners need fourteen clubs?

No. A smaller set can cover the main jobs and make decisions easier. The competition maximum does not require a golfer to carry that many.

What is the best golf tip for a beginner?

Choose a clear target and make a balanced motion you can finish. Solid contact and a playable next shot matter more than maximum distance.

Should I buy clubs labelled for men, women or seniors?

Use those labels only as a starting point. Length, total weight, grip size, loft, shaft properties and set composition should suit the individual rather than a stereotype.

Do rangefinders and GPS devices make the club choice for me?

No. They provide distance information. Wind, lie, elevation, temperature, intended landing area and your typical carry still determine the decision.

Are the rules the same worldwide?

The R&A and USGA share one Rules of Golf code, but local rules, formats and handicap administration can vary. Use the current official source for the competition and location.

Why is disc golf included?

The former site received a small number of disc-golf searches. One dedicated page preserves that topic while clearly stating that disc golf is a separate sport.

Does the site test or sell equipment?

No. It does not sell products and does not claim first-hand testing unless a documented project is explicitly published.

Where is tool data stored?

The interactive tools run in the browser. Entries are not submitted to this website and disappear when the page is reset or closed unless you print or save them yourself.
